About Forest + Ash Design Company

Forest + Ash Design Company was established in 2018 by co-founders Robin Drunsic and Hanna Schaffer, serving as one of the New Hampshire Seacoast’s premier full-service interior design companies. They work with residential and commercial properties to create timeless, functional, and beautiful spaces with a fresh and modern design approach. Robin and Hanna added the shop in July 2019, which is also used to assist with smaller-scale design needs.

The Challenge

Forest + Ash was ready to partner with someone who would take the time to help them clarify their branding goals while encouraging them to dream big. They wanted to avoid becoming stagnant.

Robin and Hanna approached SkyHouse with three key objectives for their design company:

Objective #1: Elevate the Forest + Ash Design Company brand and present a more professional image. To achieve this, we would need to design a distinctive, clean aesthetic that instills trust and confidence. It was imperative to create an intuitive website that embodies the Forest + Ash brand and provides an easy, comfortable experience for prospective clients.

Objective #2: Increase brand awareness and exposure. Robin and Hanna wanted to ensure that their brand is unique in the competitive New England market. From Forest + Ash’s logo to their print and packaging design to their website, their brand needed to be easily recognizable across all channels and collateral.

Objective #3: Set up the design business for long-term success. This would require creating a solid foundation for Forest + Ash’s brand identity and website, allowing them to grow and become a highly sought-after interior design company throughout New England.

The Solution

Our first step was to elevate and hone in on the Forest + Ash brand identity. We worked closely with Hanna and Robin to understand the heart of their brand. This included refreshing the logo, brand mark, font suite, and color palette to align with their current vision and appeal to their high-end target audience. The new brand identity is chic and calming yet professional.

Next, we updated Forest + Ash’s print and packaging design with the refreshed logos, fonts, and colors. Redesigned assets included their business cards, a direct mailer, gift bags, packages, and even custom tissue paper. Every detail of every piece reflects the new timeless Forest + Ash brand identity.

Finally, we redesigned the website to be both beautiful and functional. We implemented a design inquiry form to ease the process of qualifying leads and onboarding new clients. The entire online experience is now smoother for both site visitors and the Forest + Ash team.

The website also features a beautiful presentation of their impressive interior design portfolio. With professional photos of their work and a few powerful testimonials sprinkled throughout, Forest + Ash effectively displays their skills and credibility.

The Results

Thanks to their elevated brand identity and digital presence, Forest + Ash quickly started seeing results. Robin notes that both potential and current clients love the website as an initial touchpoint with their brand. It provides a thorough look at what Forest + Ash offers, who they are, and a glimpse of their work before having to call or email.

The website and design inquiry form also allow the Forest + Ash team to qualify leads before even having a conversation. Previously, they were averaging about two to three design inquiries a month—most of which came from referrals or people in the retail shop.

Since launching the new site, Robin reports about six to eight leads per week. Better yet, they convert 85% of those leads into clients!

“The design website has transformed our business. It has significantly streamlined our onboarding process for evaluating potential new clients. The presentation of our jobs has also allowed us to secure some higher-end projects.”

Looking Ahead

Armed with a clear and powerful brand strategy and a beautiful, intuitive website, Forest + Ash has a strong foundation upon which they can continue to expand. These crucial elements allow them to be more productive and elevate their brand, helping them achieve their ultimate goal of landing high-end jobs and becoming a trusted interior designer throughout New England.

Robin and Hanna also say they are grateful to have found SkyHouse and look forward to continuing their working relationship with us on future branding projects.

“[Janet] quickly got to know us and what we were trying to create and translated our goals into a fabulous website and overall experience for our company. … She is now an integral member of our team!”
